If clothes appear white or black with a strong smell of dampness and mold, most likely, things were poorly dried and kept in a humid place for a long time. It would seem that the thing is lost to its master forever. But there are home remedies that can help remove mold from tissue and clean stains on clothing.

You will need

  • - denatured alcohol;

  • - bleach or whey from sour milk;

  • - ammonia;

  • - hydrogen peroxide;

  • - salt;

  • - turpentine;

  • - bow;

  • - rags.

Instruction manual

1

Be sure to clean the mold on the fabric before putting the thing in the washing machine, as it can leave behind an ugly yellow stain that is difficult to eliminate.

2

If fresh mold is found, wipe the area with denatured alcohol. Then, having waited a little, rinse the place of contamination in cool water. Check for mold or a yellow spot after it. If there is, repeat the procedure. At the end of the process, the thing needs to be washed in soapy water, as usual.

3

On white fabrics, yellow spots after mildew are removed with bleach, or even better, with sour milk serum, which whitens even old mold spots. To do this, soak the serum for half an hour. Take out, dry, wipe the places where there are stains with ammonia, diluted with water (1/6), or with a solution of salt (spoon in a glass of water). Now the thing can be washed in a machine with powder for white fabrics.

4

Wash clothes affected by mold, very hot water with laundry soap and caustic soda. After hand treatment in a very soapy solution, rinse things in several waters.

5

Stir a teaspoon of ammonia and hydrogen peroxide in a glass of water and wipe the mold or stains from it with this solution. The onion juice, which needs to be wiped off mold stains, and then wash the thing as usual, first with a detergent, then with a rinse aid, eliminates the mold.

6

Remove silk stains from silk and wool with turpentine. Dampen a piece of cloth in it and wipe the affected area, then clean with a strong soapy solution of stain and rinse the item in warm water.

note

Mold does not like hot water, iron, sunlight, dryness. Thoroughly dry your laundry before putting it in a closet and even more so before you hide it for long-term storage in a pantry or dressing room.

Useful advice

Handle things with an iron on all sides. This will prevent mold from appearing on them. Dry valuable fur products, leather and others that are dear to you, in direct sunlight in the summer.
