Products are damaged by several types of butterflies - both moths and moths. You can bring them into the house by buying infected cereals or flour in a store. Pests are omnivorous: caterpillars can be found in flour, and in cereals, and in dried fruits, and in dried mushrooms, and even in sweets. During the day, butterflies sit on shaded areas of walls and ceilings or inside cars, and with dusk, they fly around the room at night.

In large warehouses, chemical treatments are carried out against pests, but in living quarters one has to act differently. The main thing here is prevention. If butterflies or small, up to 15-20 mm long, white caterpillars appeared in the house, you will have to take all stocks, find the product populated by pests and throw it away. The rest, seemingly not damaged, it is advisable to heat-treat: here may be eggs laid by butterflies.

For this purpose, cereals or flour are either heated at a temperature of 65 degrees for 15 minutes, sprinkled with a thin layer, or frozen for a week. But old deterrents - orange peels or geraniums - can be ineffective.

It is also important to store products in impermeable containers, for example, in glass cans. Metal and plastic boxes, and even more so paper and plastic bags, are ineffective: butterflies penetrate there, and caterpillars simply gnaw through the barrier.
As for clothes moles, it is better to use special products sold in stores: they are quite effective and not as toxic as naphthalene used before.
