Wells for the extraction of artesian waters are usually organized for the supply of country houses. But to drill a well is half the battle, it needs to be equipped so that you can install a pump, as well as freely operate in the winter.

Usually, after drilling a well and determining the volume of the aquifer, it is left to "calm down" for at least a day, closing it with a wooden shield for safety. However, industrial drilling often does not have time for this, and therefore immediately begin to form a settling chamber. It is called a caisson. The caisson will isolate the wellhead from possible penetration of wastewater and groundwater, while in winter it will protect the well from freezing.

Caisson

The caisson has the form of a barrel with a height of up to 3 m and a diameter of 1 to 1.8 m. Inside it there is hydraulic equipment necessary for a constant supply of water and to avoid water hammer, such as:

- pressure gauges;

- membrane tank;

- pressure switch.

To install the caisson, you need to dig a hole under it. In this case, the pit is located directly above the well pipe. Next, you need to make a hole in the bottom of the caisson along the diameter of the pipe, install the pipe itself, which is cut and welded at the bottom of the caisson. After that, an electric cable for the pump and a pipe for supplying water to the house are brought.

Pump

When choosing a pump, you need to remember that only a submersible submersible pump is suitable for you, which is able to create a pressure in the system from 1.5 to 3 atmospheres. In this case, the water column must be at least 30 meters. After you have purchased a submersible pump, you can proceed with its installation, for this it is necessary:

- fix the power cable of the pump;

- prepare the pipe to ensure water supply from the well with a diameter of 25 to 40 mm, and fix it to the pump;

- Attach a cable to the pump for emergency lifting from a depth.

Then, the sediment that formed during drilling is removed from the well. To do this, you have to pump out water from it.

After completing the preparatory work, the pump can be lowered into the well, with particular attention to its fastening, fastening of the supply pipe and safety cable.
