Drops of mounting foam can get on clothing during construction work, forming stubborn stains. Do not immediately say goodbye to the thing, because you can try to remove pollution using special means.
If there are small drops of frozen foam on your clothes, remove them with a sharp knife. Gently loosen the remains with a thin sewing needle. Then remove the foam particles with a stiff brush. If there is such a need, use a chemical solvent.
Take a sharp tool, such as a clerical knife blade, and carefully scrape off the mounting foam. Be careful, as one awkward movement can ruin your clothes. After you will need a special aerosol cleaner, which is sold in hardware and construction stores. Before using it, test on a small inconspicuous area of clothing on the wrong side. Apply a couple of drops to the fabric and wait a couple of minutes. If during this time the material has not changed its color, feel free to use it to cleanse.
Shake the aerosol can several times and carefully apply the product only on the foam stain, not on the fabric. Wait approximately 20-25 minutes and wipe the material with a damp cloth or foam sponge. At the end, rinse the clothes in clean running water and wash with powder for difficult to remove dirt. This method is suitable even if the stain is old.
Use white spirit or refined gas if you don’t have a special cleaner on hand. Of course, these funds are not so effective, but they are more careful with respect to tissue. Moisten a gauze or cotton swab in a solvent and apply to the stain from the mounting foam for 5-10 minutes. Under the influence of chemicals, it will gradually dissolve. Rinse the mark from the spot under running water and wash with stain remover.
You can get rid of spots with the help of cold. Gently fold the soiled clothes so that the frozen foam is on top. Pack it in a plastic bag and place it in the freezer for a while. After about half an hour, pull out your clothes and gently remove the foam using nail clippers or a stationery knife. Wipe the trace with a cotton swab dipped in nail polish remover or acetone. Rinse and wash clothes that are free of mounting foam with the addition of a stain remover.
