If there is not enough light in your apartment, this is not a reason to refuse to breed indoor plants. Among them there are specimens that feel great in the shade or partial shade. Choose between large plants that can be installed in the corner of the room, small flowers with spectacular leaves or decorative vines.

From half the world to the shadow

Plants that can tolerate a lack of light require different conditions. Some flowers feel good in constant shade - for example, in the corner of a room, on cabinets or in corridors that do not have windows. Such plants include species with dense dark leaves - aspidistra, gelksina, scindaptus (forms with monophonic leaves), sansevieria, aglaonema, climbing philodendron. Some of these colors - for example, gelxin - feel better when periodically moving to a more lighted place.

In partial shade, some species of dracaena and ivy, cordilina, fatsheder, tolmy, fatsia, dwarf ficus, monstera, dieffenbachia, ficus and ferns grow well. These plants can be placed in the center of the rooms or in places where the flowers will be provided with artificial lighting.

Shade-tolerant plants do not tolerate direct sunlight - it can burn leaves and destroy the flower. Bright rays should be shaded by curtains or blinds. They do not like shady flowers and excess moisture; in conditions of lack of lighting, leaves can be affected by gray rot and fungus.

The best option for such plants is moderate watering with soft water and removal from heating appliances. Too high temperatures are undesirable. The room where the flowers are placed should be often aired, avoiding the ingress of frosty air directly onto the plants.

Variegated forms of shade-tolerant plants can grow with a lack of light, but in the shade their leaves will darken and lose their pattern.
