Among the incidents and accidents that occur in domestic conditions, an important place is occupied by explosions of domestic gas. You can avoid trouble if you follow simple rules.
1. In no case do not obstruct access to gas pipes and taps; gas equipment must not be hidden behind a kitchen set or covered with chipboard panels. If you suspect a leak, you will not be able to quickly get to the pipes and turn off the gas.
2. Make sure that the hood in the kitchen is working properly. If a serious gas leak occurs, you will smell a characteristic odor. Properly functioning ventilation will protect you from possible asphyxiation or fire. Therefore, do not wallpaper the ventilation in the kitchen.
3. Use the gas stove only for its intended purpose, that is, for cooking. Do not turn on the gas when you want to warm up the entire apartment, do not dry clothes over burning rings, do not leave the stove working unattended. In addition, if there are children in the house, explain to them what the situation may lead to when they turn the power knobs without adult supervision.
4. For your own safety, do not install gas equipment yourself, even if it seems to you that it is easy. In the future, provide access to gas equipment to gas service specialists. That is, when an announcement from the management company about the arrival of representatives of gas services appears on the door of your entrance, be sure to be at home at the indicated time.
