If you accidentally sat on a painted bench or simply soiled your cotton clothes with paint during the repair process, do not despair. Getting it out is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance.

Watercolor paints and gouache

Removing water-based paints from cotton items is easy enough. To do this, turn the “affected” product inside out and rinse the stain thoroughly under cold water. When most of the paint has been removed, soak clothing and wash with regular powder.

Aniline paints

In this case, use the following method to remove paint from cotton: soak a cotton swab in denatured alcohol and wipe the stain from the edges to the center. Then treat it with potassium permanganate (10% solution), and after a few minutes - 2% with oxalic acid. Rinse the product in water and leave to dry completely.

Acrylic paints

If the acrylic paint is made on a water basis, then it will be easy to remove it from things from cotton, otherwise you will have to contact dry cleaning.

1. Rinse the paint stain under a stream of cold water, while turning the product inside out. Then wring it out carefully so that it is moist but not wet.

2. Load the cotton item in the washing machine and set it to the longest wash cycle. Use only synthetic detergent. If necessary, wash again.

3. If the second wash did not help, that is, the stain remains, use a soft bristled toothbrush - dip it in detergent and carefully, in order not to damage the cotton cloth, treat the area with paint.

4. After performing all these procedures, rinse your clothes thoroughly and wash in hot water.
