Bugs in croup are a rather unpleasant phenomenon, and not so rare. If you find small black insects in a bag with cereals, do not panic, but act correctly.
Even the most neat and tidy housewives in one "fine" day can find little black little bugs in the groats, especially in the one that is stored in plastic bags. But there is no human guilt, although dirt and dust in the kitchen (in cupboards) can also attract prolific insects.
Where do the bugs in cereal come from
Bugs appear, as you know, from larvae. But then the question is: where did the larvae in the croup come from? They infected the cereal before it was bought at the store. Adult female bugs can lay eggs in the factory, in the warehouse, during packaging and even on the field. If you opened the package, even if not immediately after the purchase, and found bugs, be sure that you purchased already infected cereals in the store.
Why it happens? Yes, because during the processing of cereals or its packaging, you can see with the naked eye only adult individuals or lumps glued together by a web. It is impossible to consider laid eggs. Of course, when purchasing products of reputable brands, you have more guarantees that the groats will be of high quality and not infected by larvae. Most often, black bugs can be found in such products as ground and whole grains, dried vegetables, dried fruits, various spices, nuts, flour. Less common in pasta (if only of very poor quality), breadcrumbs, bread, cookies.
