Bacteria cause unpleasant odors in shoes. They multiply quickly in a humid and warm environment, so inside the boot is a real expanse for them. To refresh your shoes, you need to get rid of bacteria and thoroughly dry the shoes.

To fulfill the first point, shoes can be processed from the inside by the following means:

  • hydrogen peroxide, which you probably have in your medicine cabinet;
  • formidron - an antiseptic agent based on formaldehyde;
  • a weak solution of potassium permanganate;
  • medical alcohol;
  • tablespoon 9% vinegar;

Another deadly enemy of bacteria is low temperatures. In the warm season, shoes can be put in a bag and sent overnight to the freezer, and in winter - put on the balcony.

You can also use absorbent substances that absorb an unpleasant odor. Baking soda or flour is perfect for these purposes. Pour the selected substance into the shoes and leave for 8-12 hours. Then just vacuum the shoes.

There is an easier way: tea bags. At night, leave 2-3 sachets in each boot. In the morning they will only have to get it - an unpleasant smell no matter how happened!

In order to continue to have no problems with unpleasant odors, it is very important to choose the right shoes. First of all, it should be shoes made of natural "breathing" materials: for example, suede or leather. But leatherette is better to avoid.

The insole material must also be natural! Insoles with a carbon layer or special antibacterial options will perfectly protect from unpleasant odors. If the insole is removed - this is an additional plus. In this case, do not forget to wash it once a month, and change it every 3 months.

And do not forget that any shoes are important to store properly. Shoes should have time to dry out, so it is advisable to have several pairs of shoes (especially sneakers), as well as give preference to open and bright places for storage.
