Grates for household stoves
Different types of fuel are used in home stoves, including coal, which is why a zone of very high temperatures is constantly observed in the furnace. The combustion object in the stove should have a position that is at least partially streamlined by air above and below. A conventional metal grate is poorly suited to maintain fuel weight: in a furnace, it quickly collapses from corrosion, so it is customary to install cast iron grate grates in furnaces.
The grate in the furnace will perform two tasks. It ensures the ashes through the ash and ash and promotes the flow of oxygen into the lower part of the combustion zone. Massive cast iron is an iron alloy with a high carbon content, which makes it a heat-resistant material with minimal linear thermal expansion and high resistance to oxidation.

The grate weighs usually from four to several tens of kilograms, it all depends on the size and the expected duration of operation.
Rules for installing grates
The size of the grate determines the size of the furnace of the future furnace, so you need to focus on it first. If the grate is purchased in advance and its dimensions are known, the stove can immediately correctly assemble the brickwork and adjust the size of the furnace. Typically, grate is installed in a furnace with the possibility of their replacement in the future. That is why they are not embedded in the wall, but lie almost freely on the walls of the ash collector. In closed-type furnaces, the removal and installation of new grates is carried out through the dismantling of the upper cast-iron plates, while in the oven with a wide firebox, the grates are dismantled without breaking the design.
