How to disassemble a toilet bowl
Dismantling a compact begins with a tank. First, the water supply is shut off and the drain is pressed until the tank is completely empty. The water drain button is unscrewed, which is usually plastic and is screwed very easily, so no tools are needed for this process.
The bezel is pressed with your fingers, which protrudes above the lid of the tank. This is followed by counterclockwise rotation, until complete unscrewing. And now the tank cap is already in the hands.
Armature for water filling is disconnected from the tank. The water supply to the tank may be lateral or lower. To unscrew the hose, you need an ordinary wrench or an adjustable wrench.
Removing the flexible water supply hose, the dropped rubber gasket is selected. If it is not damaged by tightening the nut early, it is retained with the hose. When reinstalling the compact, it may be necessary to replace the gasket.
While unscrewing the hose with one hand, hold the fittings with your other hand. After disconnecting the flexible supply, the clamping nut is unscrewed, which secures the drain valve to the compact tank.
The clamping nut is often plastic and easily loosens. With prolonged use of the toilet bowl, the nut can be difficult to remove by hand, then an adjustable wrench is used.
The following is the disconnection of the tank from the bowl. The tank itself is attached to the toilet with two bolts that unscrew. Fixing bolts can be plastic or iron. Plastic bolts can be easily removed, and iron bolts can become rusty and it is almost impossible to unscrew them.
If the iron bolts are not unscrewed, a metal hacksaw is used, with which the bolts are carefully sawed in the space between the bowl and the tank itself. The main thing is not to damage the landing gasket between them.
The drain fittings are fixed with a plastic nut at the bottom of the tank. When deciding to remove its fittings when unscrewing, it is held by the second hand.
Dismantling the toilet bowl
