Instruction manual

1

When transplanting a cactus, choose a pot depending on the shape of the root system. Spread the roots, if they are more directed to the sides, plant in a wide, but shallow container. Plant with an elongated base, place in a deep pot, but narrow. There is no need for an extra cactus, the size should correspond to the root system.

2

A metal container is not suitable for planting a cactus, choose a clay one. Clay is a good natural material. Metal pots from moisture will begin to rust, this can harm the plant. Vessels made of another material have openings on the bottom so that the root has access to air.

3

At the bottom of the pot into which you are transplanting the cactus, put drainage: expanded clay, crushed gravel, red brick or polystyrene. The soil used should have a neutral, and preferably slightly acidic environment. Do not add humus, nitrogen, contained in it in large quantities, is harmful to the plant. It becomes more susceptible to various diseases.

4

Add fertilizers containing calcium, potassium and phosphorus in small quantities in the warm season. For planting cacti, flower substrates sell special substrates adapted to their usual environment. At home, prepare a mixture of turf and sheet earth, sand, charcoal and lime. The soil should be loose.

5

Cactus needs constant light. Place it on a windowsill under bright rays. If the sun is too burning, shade the window with light paper. If there is insufficient light, put a desk lamp next to it. Do not change the position of the pot, do not twist it, put it in one cozy place with enough light, without drafts and additional heating appliances.

6

Cactus does not like too dry and hot air. Do not place it near batteries. Ventilate the room by removing the pot from the draft. In the warm season, do this more often, in the cold - less often. Although plants are thermophilic, they can tolerate low winter temperatures of 5-15º well.

7

Cactus, like any plant, needs watering. It is easier for him to withstand dry soil than waterlogged soil. Too wet earthen mixture contributes to the decay of the root system. In winter, water the cactus 1-2 times a month. In the summer, every day, in the morning, so that the water has time to soak in the evening.

8

For watering, use boiled or settled liquid at room temperature. In winter, warm the water slightly so that it is slightly warm. In the spring, use melt snow or rain fluid. Water the plant exclusively under the root, without touching the top. In the hot season, spray the cactus from the spray gun several times a week or more often if the temperature is high outside.
