Sometimes, after buying a new electric kettle, housewives notice one unpleasant feature - the smell of plastic inside the appliance. This smell is also transmitted to the water that boils in the kettle, overshadowing not only the joy of shopping, but also the process of tea drinking. There are several ways to get rid of bad smell.
Pour water into a new kettle. Squeeze the juice of 3-4 lemons into the water. Turn on the appliance and boil water. After the water boils, leave this solution in the teapot for 12 hours. After the time has expired, boil the solution again and pour it out. Rinse the kettle with running water. If necessary, the procedure can be repeated again.
The second way to get rid of is to use sachets instead of lemon juice in sachets. Fill the electric kettle with water to the mark and pour citric acid from it into two bags (25 g each). Boil the solution and leave in the teapot for 12 hours, then boil and wash the kettle again.
The third method is similar to the first two, only instead of juice or acid, you can use the peel of a lemon.
As an oxidizing agent, you can use vinegar essence or table vinegar. Add two tablespoons of essence (70%) or 100 g of table vinegar to an electric kettle filled with water. Boil the solution two to three times in a row, then drain and wash the kettle thoroughly.
You can use baking soda to remove bad smell from the kettle. Pour 3 tablespoons of soda into a teapot filled with water and boil water, then cool, drain and wash the teapot.
