The choice of analogue to replace
Uninterruptible power supplies use lead-acid batteries. They differ in operating parameters, dimensions and body shape. Each manufacturer seeks to unify their products so that only he can sell components to his devices. Because of this, it is not possible to find a completely similar replacement for a UPS that has been discontinued.
It’s also not worth taking batteries from your hands: you probably won’t be able to check them correctly, so there is a high probability of premature failure. It is better to purchase a battery at the regional representative office of the manufacturer of the UPS by contacting them through the contact details specified in the instruction manual. When buying, make sure that the new battery has the same operating voltage and external dimensions. In this case, it is allowed to install batteries with a larger capacity.
Replace with a standard battery
A typical battery replacement takes a few minutes. Uninterruptible power supply must be disconnected from the mains and the battery cover must be removed. Then, you will need to disconnect the two wires connected to the battery from the terminals, which are usually black and red. The wires are connected to the corresponding connectors of the new battery, while they can not be interchanged. The new battery is installed in the mounting slots, after which the compartment lid closes.
