The clamp is a type of clamp and is used for tightly pressing parts together or for their fixed fixation. Often there is a need to glue something, saw off, after fixing the element, and so on, then you can not do without a clamp. With little need for a clamp, the purchase of a special tool is not needed, you can make a clamp yourself.
Materials for making a simple clamp
The home-made clamp model under consideration has limited application possibilities, but there is still a definite benefit to its use. A clamp made of wood should be fixed to a workbench or to any desktop that any home craftsman has.
Homemade vice should be made of hardwood. For the intended purpose, such types of material as beech, birch, oak or ash are quite suitable.
Requires the purchase of a pair of threaded rods: 200 mm long, 5 mm in diameter. Pick up the second pair of rods of a somewhat shorter length - 120 mm, but with the same diameter, nuts are also selected to the rods. If it is not possible to purchase the material presented, then in the garage of any owner there will always be improvised necessary means, albeit of a different size.
It will take two planks of plywood measuring 15x160x200 mm. Two slats with dimensions of 20x40x240 mm are also needed.
The assembly process of the first part of the wood clamp
Take a pair of slats, the length of which is 240 mm. These slats are fixed to the desktop. To do this, holes are drilled in them in identical places, so that the rails can be pulled together by the prepared rods in the future.
One of the slats should be drilled and laid with an edge, and the second with a plane. This is done for those purposes in order to ensure stable strength of the home-made structure. If there is a desire to construct a more durable mechanism - it is worth laying both rails on the edge.
