How to sew cuffs

To do this, you need to cut out details and bend along the bottom edge. The outer halves must be made more dense. Today for these purposes there is adhesive doubler, adhesive fabric and adhesive non-woven. Their density should match the cuff material. If the fabric is too thin and transparent, it is better to buy a non-woven fabric or cobweb in the store. For coarser fabrics, doubler is suitable.

Adhesive fabric must be cut clearly along the contour of the part that needs to be sealed. The glue should be cut so that there are no any allowances for seams, otherwise it will thicken parts of the product. Therefore, the excess of the adhesive base on the allowances is not desirable. After attaching the glue, fold the cuff in half and iron.

On the sleeves you need to lay a couple of folds approximately 2 cm wide each. Folds on both sides must be laid so that they are evenly distributed, then the sleeve will not twist in the future. After that, the fortified part of the cuff is applied to the lower part of the slice of the future sleeve and fastened with pins. After parts of the product are sour, the cuff allowances should be free. Now you can remove the pins and iron the seam allowance toward the cuff. After this, also iron the allowance from the inside of the cuff.

At the final stage, you need to sew the fabric along the line of the cuff stitching by 1 cm. If there is a style, make the same line of any width around the edge.
