Modern mixers are divided into valve and ball. Recently, customers have increasingly preferred ball valves. They are distinguished by reliability and high aesthetics. At the same time, at the price of ball mixers are mostly more expensive than valve taps, and their repair is fraught with certain difficulties.

Instruction manual

1

Prepare a hex key. Make sure that the special shut-off valves on the branch pipes are in the closed position. Using a wrench, first gently loosen, and then remove the screw, as well as the rubber cover, to dismantle the handle of the crane to access its internal parts. Try not to damage the threads of the chrome-plated moving handle rod and the tap itself. Otherwise, after reassembling, there will be big problems with adjusting the water.

2

Remove the threaded ring. Do this with a combination of two tools - a screwdriver and a hammer. Carefully insert a flathead screwdriver and tap with a hammer. At this stage, problems may occur if the faucet has not been opened for a long time, its parts were not properly maintained or the ring simply soured. Avoid strong knocks. Unscrew the ring counterclockwise, while being careful not to turn the entire valve. Otherwise, the water hoses located in the hole of the sink or sink immediately under the tap may be damaged.

3

Pull out the dome-shaped part, usually chrome plated, using pliers. Be careful, if possible, use thin but durable gloves that will help to avoid cuts on chipped surfaces. Thick gloves will deprive the hands of mobility and sensitivity, which is necessary for operations with small parts of the crane.

4

Disconnect the plastic part in white or yellow. This seal not only looks like a shield, but also performs its functions. With insufficient tightness, water spills out of the tap uncontrollably. If the shield is too clogged with dirt or suspension, then the water, on the contrary, does not enter well, and sometimes it simply does not reach the exhaust pipe.

5

Use rust removers to clean the seal shield and the space underneath. After that, slowly, without jerking, pull up and pull the ball part out of the tap. Carefully inspect the ball. There may be damage to the regulatory hole that controls the range of motion of the part, or there are bumps or scratches on brass surfaces.

6

Use a flathead screwdriver to replace the seals inside the valve. Sometimes it is also necessary to install new guide springs, which are responsible for tight sealing of the seals. It should be noted that the deterioration of the seals is, most often, the cause of leakage or uneven water supply in the ball mixer.
