Each hostess at least once faced with the problem of cleaning the sole of the iron. If you don’t wash the iron in time from pollution, often formed during its use, ironing can turn into a real nightmare. You can wash the iron in several simple ways.

If you notice particles of burnt synthetics on the sole of your iron, heat the appliance to the maximum and do not turn it off until they are completely melted. Scrape away the rest of the synthetics from the sole with a wooden spatula, and then walk the iron several times over the old unnecessary terry towel. Under no circumstances should you scrape away any dirt from the iron with metal objects such as a knife.

It happens that after removing contamination from the iron, a stain remains on its sole. It is easy to wash with a paste made from water and soda. Put the pulp on a rag and carefully wipe it with the cold sole of the iron.

You can also wash the iron from dirt with a gauze moistened with ammonia. To do this, roll gauze in several layers, thoroughly soak with ammonia and iron it with a warm iron.

Fine salt very effectively cleans the iron from dirt. Sprinkle a small amount of it on the newspaper and walk on it several times with a hot iron.

Removing rust from the sole of the iron takes place in several stages. Remove the main dirt with fine sandpaper. Then heat the iron a little and treat its warm sole with wax from an ordinary candle. Cool the appliance, and rub the treated areas with fine table salt. Finally, wipe the iron with an unnecessary terry cloth.

Some stains on the iron can be washed with acetone. Only this should be done very carefully so as not to damage the device.

If the sole of your iron is equipped with a Teflon coating, you can wash it from dirt using a regular nylon washcloth. Before proceeding with the cleaning procedure, make sure that the device has cooled down after use.
