Chalk paste and chalk are widely used in interior decorating - they are one of the cheapest and most environmentally friendly finishing materials. However, during repairs it is not so easy to remove the chalk coating from the walls.

Prepare the room. To do this, cover the floor with plastic wrap or any other material. If it is not possible to take out all the furniture, try to move it to one corner and also cover it with a protective film. Take care of window sills, frames, glass, door frame and canvas. You can fix the polyethylene on them using masking tape.

Observe safety rules - be sure to turn off the power wiring. Use safety glasses and gloves. Put on a hat.

Prepare the tool. In order to prevent water from draining into the sleeves of work clothes during surface treatment, it is recommended to provide the roller base with a special cover. Cut a circle from a piece of plastic of a suitable size whose diameter is slightly larger than the length of the roller. Make a hole in the middle of the circle. Insert the handle of the tool into it so that the cover is a few centimeters below the roller.

Pour warm water into a basin or bucket. Apply it evenly on the surface of the wall or ceiling with a brush head and roller with a long pile. Leave it for a while so that the chalk can absorb water.

Fill the spray bottle with warm water. Wet the ceiling or wall section with an area of not more than 1 sq.m.

Chalk should be removed from the walls starting from the top corner. Remove the chalk coating from the surface with a wide spatula. Treat all surfaces similarly, breaking them into small areas. If wet chalk sticks to a spatula, you can remove it with a small piece of plywood, fiberboard or a second spatula.

Prepare a saline solution at the rate of 1 kg of salt per 10 liters of water. Finish surfaces by washing them thoroughly with a rag or sponge.
