Descaling
The main problem that owners of kitchen appliances have to deal with is the appearance of scale. In the case of a coffee machine, increased attention requires a heating element of the boiler. The cleaning procedure consists of two stages (descaling and washing) and takes about half an hour.
First of all, it is necessary to drain the liquid from the drip tray, prepare a container with a volume of about 1.2 liters to collect water during descaling, remove the optional INTENZA filter from the tank, and also remove the panarello nozzle or the cappuccino machine (depending on the model of the coffee machine).
Fill the water tank with Saeco descaler, add water to the MAX mark and put it in place. Switch off the coffee machine by pressing a button, place a pre-prepared container under the steam / hot water outlet. Set the disc to the coffee bean icon. Press and simultaneously hold the buttons with the image of coffee cups located in the center of the disk for 5 seconds. After that, the red indicator should start flashing. The coffee machine will dispense the descaling solution into the drip tray during this time. A full cleaning cycle takes approximately five minutes.
After turning on the green indicator, the cleaning agent must be drained from the tank. To do this, the disc is moved to the position indicating a hot cup of coffee, and, after a minute, a liquid will start to escape through the steam / hot water outlet pipe. The whole process will take about 15 minutes. At the end of this cycle, the disc must be installed on the coffee bean icon, drain the water from the tank and return it to its place.
Important: all actions are performed when the coffee machine is turned off. Otherwise, the coffee brewing process begins. If this happens, you must repeat the steps from the very beginning.
