Living plants can decorate any home. But they need regular care, and this activity will take a lot of your time. Flowers should be watered, protected from diseases, fed and remember to change depleted soil in time.

To determine if your plant needs a transplant, stick a long wooden stick as deep as possible between the ground and the wall of the pot. Then swipe it in a circle and shake the plant out of the pot. Examine the earthball. If it is all braided by roots, then be sure to transplant the plant. If there are few roots, then return the flower to the pot again. Just sprinkle a little fresh earth. In the case when the roots peek out through the holes in the bottom of the pot or the tips of the leaves dry out of the plant, the flower is also transplanted.

Do the transplant at certain times of the year. Evergreens awaken after a slow development in early March. Therefore, transplant them during this period. For flowers that bloom in spring, change the ground after flowering has ended.

Prepare new pots for transplanting. They should be several centimeters larger in diameter than the previous ones. Do not take too spacious pots, otherwise the soil in them may become acidic.

If you have chosen clay pots, then scald them with boiling water before transplanting and completely immerse them in a bucket of water for half an hour. This procedure will fill the pores of the clay product with moisture. Rinse the plastic pots with running water and add laundry soap. Then rinse with hot water, but not boiling water, otherwise the pot may crack.

Prepare the land for transplanting plants. To do this, use cultivated land from the garden. Make your own mixes of peat, turf, river sand and humus. Select components depending on the type of root color system that you want to transplant.

To transplant indoor flowers, buy ready-made earth mixes with polystyrene balls and peat. They retain moisture well. Plants that need a special soil composition are transplanted into special purchased earth mixes.

Pour on the bottom of the pot purchased drainage, river sand and a little soil. Place the plant in a pot. Support it near the base with one hand, and pour soil along the edges of the pot with the other. Do not compact the ground too tightly. The soil should not reach the top of the pot a few centimeters. After the transplant, water the flower and place it in a dark place for a couple of weeks.

If you need to transplant a plant with buds, transplant it into another pot. Pull out the flower with a clod of earth, but do not touch the roots. Carefully place the plant in another, previously prepared pot and sprinkle the earth around the edges. Then water well at the end.
