Flying ants are ants in which the mating season has begun. The time comes and wingless insects grow their wings in search of a partner, rising to a hill, look for a mate. Mating can occur both on the ground and in the air. Immediately after this, the males die, and the females look for a place for the future anthill. Having found a suitable nook, the female lays eggs glued with one lump. A week later, the first ants appear, which begin to build a new ant hill and feed a starving female. During this period, flying female ants consume the fat accumulated before the mating flight, the wings fall off, and the muscles atrophy.

The first way to get rid of flying ants, from which you should begin the fight against this type of insect, is cleaning the room. Fertilized females are not interested in an absolutely clean house. They need a warm place near a source of food and drink. You will need to get rid of “stale” things and rubbish, pull up all the water taps, remove all the food from the kitchen, especially the crumbs. Before proceeding with a thorough general cleaning, try to find all the nests of flying ants and destroy them. You will need to drain moist places, cover all cracks and crevices. Insects can be collected using a vacuum cleaner.

Treat all dangerous places in the apartment with a special aerosol, gel, masking tape or crayon. You can purchase these funds in a specialized department of household chemicals. Before use, carefully read the instructions. The same drugs that are used in the destruction of ordinary insects can help in the fight against flying ants: Regent, Raptor, Dichlorvos, and Mashenka.

Try to treat the places you like with flying ants with a pungent odor (like eucalyptus oil, sulfur, garlic). To do this, it is recommended to mix these products with borax: it will quickly destroy their chitinous shell. This treatment is desirable to be carried out repeatedly, since the remaining living flying ants can move around the apartment from one section of the room to another.
