There are many reasons why a sewing machine refuses to work. Quite often, problems can be solved at home.

First you need to check the correctness of the upper and lower threading. It will be better to refill according to the scheme indicated in the operating instructions or printed on the body of your sewing machine. If the threads are threaded incorrectly, then no sewing machine will sew. Always make sure that the thread comes off the spool freely and does not cling or get tangled anywhere.
Check the upper thread tension adjuster.

The needle needs to be replaced, as it is the most vulnerable part of the sewing machine. It often suffers from improper refueling or improper use of the machine (sipping material when sewing, needle mismatch with the material being sewn, etc.). Be sure to put new needles and discard old ones. Never use damaged needles.

Pay attention to the quality of the thread you are sewing. Check them for durability. Good threads should be strong enough. Look at them: the threads should be uniform in thickness and there should be no knots on them. Pay attention to the thickness of the threads; they may not be suitable for your sewing machine. As a rule, recommendations for the use of threads are written in the instructions.

Clean the machine. Often the cause of the malfunction is the contamination of the shuttle device and tissue engine. After reading, be sure to drip all moving joints with oil.

If you can’t fix the problem, do not grab a screwdriver and try to change the settings of the machine from the inside. This should be done by a specialist. Repair after amateur intervention is much more expensive.
