When purchasing a new washing machine, everyone wants them to last as long as possible, and not add problems in the form of a sudden breakdown of parts. In time to prevent their premature wear and thereby extend the life of the washing machine is possible, if not lazy to follow a few important tips.

Before washing

  • Before sending a thing for washing, it is better to inspect its pockets to remove all unnecessary, including small specks - it will be easiest to clean them with a brush. For the same purpose, pillowcases and duvet covers are twisted to remove debris, threads and pile deposited in their corners.
  • All the zippers, all the buttons on the clothes need to be fastened, the ties tied, everything that is barely sewn is sewn (in extreme cases, it can be cut off for a while). Protruding threads from the seams are fixed, since having blossomed during washing, they can clog the mechanism, wrap around its rotating parts, leading them to breakage.
  • When washing things, pillowcases and duvet covers are seized in several hand-sewn stitches to sew up holes and thereby prevent stuffing of small items inside and their subsequent stalling, which creates an imbalance in relation to weight distribution. You can reduce it if you put large and small things mixed up in the drum, which positively affects not only the quality of the wash, but also the spin cycle.
  • Chlorine-containing (including its components) laundry bleaches can be effective, but do not use them as a detergent for a washing machine.
  • All detergents are put into the machine according to the instructions. An excess of them can very negatively affect not only the condition of the laundry, but also the machine.
  • Once a year at least it is recommended to specifically remove lime deposits on the heating element and other parts of the apparatus using means specially designed for this procedure. However, this procedure can be avoided if water softening agents are used for each wash.
  • Reducing the temperature of the wash and the spin speed will reduce the wear of the most important parts of the machine, and prevent them from overgrowing with calcareous deposits (scale).
  • The device should not be overloaded with things: it is better to slightly underload than to fill it to the eyeballs.

After washing

  • The drum is inspected for damage. All items that have fallen during washing are removed.
  • The fold of the sealing rubber (along the doorway) is unbent, wiped dry with a dry clean cloth. In front-loading machines, bend the fold of the sealing gum (the one near the door), wipe it around the entire circumference with a clean, dry cloth. The walls of the drum and the powder container are subjected to the same procedure. After that, the hatch is left to dry for a while, then closed from dust.
  • In the presence of rust formations on the inner surface of the drum, it is removed by special means, the composition of which does not contain chlorine.
