In Europe, sales of dishwashers are almost 10 times higher than in Russia: people there do not want to overpay for water. Recent technological advances allow you to use only 7-10 liters of water to wash 12 sets of dishes, such a machine in Europe pays off in less than a year.
Fully built-in models are closed with furniture facades: for each manipulation with the machine you need to open the cabinet door. This is inconvenient, but such dishwashers can be installed in previously purchased kitchen sets: they are slightly lower than standard floor cabinets.
Partially built-in models are more convenient to use: here the control panel is open, you can monitor the progress of the program without opening the cabinet, but such a machine must be bought with furniture.

They can be embedded, for example, in a niche for a microwave oven - at chest level, which is very convenient.
The built-in option is good for a small family and a small kitchen, the desktop one is for rented housing or a kitchen where there is no place for large equipment. Do not forget that compact cars spend less electricity and water.
Dishwashers have washing classes (A, B, C) and energy consumption (A and B). The latter allows customers to understand whether this device is economical or not. If a few years ago, expensive and cheap cars were noticeably different in classes, now the economy segment is pulling up in quality while maintaining affordable prices.
Drying technology affects the cost and usability of the machine. In low-cost models, condensation drying is used. At the end of the washing, the dishes are rinsed with hot water, the moisture evaporates and settles on the walls of the chamber, draining into the condensate compartment. The disadvantages of this method are the duration of the process, the need to open the door after the end of the cycle so that the dishes do not become wet again.
Turbo drying involves the presence of a fan heater blowing around the chamber. This method is more expensive, faster and more convenient. But if the fan breaks, the repair will come out expensive.
The most progressive drying is zeolite: a special container is filled with minerals. During drying, they absorb moisture and generate heat. Fast, reliable and, alas, expensive.
Budget cars often have mechanical control, in which each program is allocated a certain time. If you choose such a device, pay attention to the presence of half load and additional rinse functions.
Electronic and touch control allows you to combine programs, directly in the process to activate different functions, see the indication of modes on the display. The machines themselves determine the volume, weight and degree of contamination of the dishes and optimize the consumption of water and electricity for each specific washing cycle. Some have a sensor for clean water (it will show that there is no food and detergent left over) and a delayed start function (night wash can be programmed).
There are low-temperature programs for the delicate washing of glass and crystal. In contrast - intensive washing programs and special programs for pots: enhanced circulation of very hot water. Cost-effective programs allow you to spend 20% less energy, lowering the temperature of the water for washing lightly soiled dishes.
For saving both energy and time, express programs with a shortened cycle are designed. A soaking program is useful if the dishes in the machine are several hours before washing. Thanks to a preliminary rinse, it will be moist and the remaining food will not dry out.
An important point is leakage protection, which blocks the flow of water. Not every manufacturer writes whether it is full or partial. But complete protection guarantees the safety of both the housing and hoses, and partial protection of either one or the other.
There is the possibility of connecting the machine to both cold and hot water. This allows you to not depend on the actions of utilities and save electricity. Leading brands have at least one such model.
