Almost every coffee lover sooner or later thinks about buying a coffee maker or coffee machine, because only with their help you can make a real espresso or cappuccino. A horn coffee maker is one of the most common types of coffee makers that you can find at home.

Features of the carob coffee maker

Carob coffee makers are also known under a different name - sometimes they are called “espresso”, which translates as “fast”. Indeed, preparing a drink in such a machine does not take much time.

The traditional way of making coffee, which is used in some coffee makers, is the same as when the drink is brewed in a Turk - this is mixing and boiling ground beans and water. But espresso is made completely different. Ground coffee does not fall into the water at all, but is placed above the vessel with it. Water is heated to a state of steam, which passes through the coffee powder, and then condenses in a separate container. So they get espresso.

It is in this way that coffee is prepared in a carob. And they call it that because the vessel for ground coffee has the shape of a horn. This allows water vapor to pass through the grains especially quickly.

Types of Carob Coffee Makers

Carob coffee makers are divided into steam and pump, the second type is a bit more expensive. However, the use of a pump-action coffee maker is often much more convenient than steam, so the price difference justifies itself. The pump-action device can significantly improve the taste of coffee, while accelerating its preparation.

An additional advantage of the pump-type carob coffee maker is the amount of coffee that can be obtained from one serving of beans placed in the horn. The steam model gives no more than four cups of saturated coffee, and the pump-action one - 6-7.

Another point affecting the price of the coffee maker is also the material of the horn: it can be plastic or metal. According to the best barista, a plastic horn affects the taste of coffee, adding a strange “plastic or chemical” flavor to it. Therefore, it is recommended that you choose metal horns if you really appreciate the taste of coffee.
