The first non-stick pans had many drawbacks: they released substances harmful to human health, and the coating itself was short-lived, quickly scratched, and after a while the food began to burn even harder than in a conventional pan. Today there are new technologies in this area: non-stick coatings are becoming more durable and high-quality, and their safety makes them more popular compared to Teflon. Ceramic, marble, granite pans appeared.

The latter are the result of recent developments, while these products have not yet become ubiquitous, but many housewives have already appreciated their merits.

Granite pans can be sold under the name “stone” or “marble”. In fact, their coating consists of fine crumbs made of granite. These solid mineral particles make the non-stick film on the surface very strong and durable, both in comparison with Teflon and in comparison with popular ceramic pans, which are fragile. Due to this stability, the coating does not separate at high temperatures and does not pose a danger to humans.

Marble or granite coating can be applied to any pan: both cheap aluminum and expensive from a more durable and durable material. As a rule, such pans are made of cast aluminum, a light metal with good thermal conductivity.
