Finding a place to install a washing machine in small apartments is not always an easy task. The main conditions for a successful installation are the proximity of the water supply and sewage system. Traditionally, washing machines are installed in the bathroom and in the kitchen.
Washing machine in the bathroom
The bathroom is a pretty popular place to install a washing machine. Sewerage and plumbing are at hand, for conducting hoses you do not need to make holes in the walls. Waterproofing will not be superfluous, because the washing machine can leak.
The main drawback of most standard apartments is cramped space. If the bathroom is combined, the place to install the machine there most often is. If there is a shortage of space, narrow washing machines or devices with vertical loading can come to the rescue.
It is more difficult if the bathroom is separated from the toilet. In such rooms, sometimes only a bath and a washbasin can fit. But even in this situation, you can try to install a washing machine. Some are ready to sacrifice a sink for this, putting the device in its place.
However, you can do without such a sacrifice. For example, you can purchase a compact washing machine, designed for installation under the washbasin. The height of such an apparatus is 70 cm, which is 15 cm below the standard. But such a machine is not designed to wash large quantities of laundry and is not suitable for a large family.
It is possible to install a washing machine of a normal height under the sink. On sale you can find special washbasins designed for installation on top of washing machines. This model is called "Water Lily." It has a flat shape and a specially equipped drain displaced to the back of the sink. It should be noted that small people using the "Water Lily" can be uncomfortable.
When installing the machine in the bathroom, be aware of the danger of electric shock. The electrical outlet must be grounded, and a residual current device (RCD) must be installed in the electrical panel. In no case do not ground electrical appliances on water pipes - this is life threatening!
Washing machine in the kitchen
Another popular place to install a washing machine is the kitchen. Even in a small kitchen you can find a place, sacrificing a cabinet or cabinet. An undoubted advantage of the location in this part of the apartment is the convenience of connecting to communications.
Most often, the washing machine is installed in line with the kitchen set. You need to decide whether you will integrate the device under the countertop or put it between the cabinets of the headset. The fact is that the standard height of the countertop and the height of the machine are the same and are 85 cm.
Built-in washing machines were originally designed to be installed under the countertop and slightly lower than usual. On their front side loops are placed, allowing you to hang kitchen facades. This allows you to fit the car into any interior. The only drawback of such devices is that they usually cost significantly more than classic cars.
However, there is a more budgetary way. Some models of conventional washing machines are equipped with a removable top cover. After removing it, you can install the device under the countertop.
Washing machines, originally designed for installation in a kitchen set, practically do not vibrate during the spin cycle. This cannot be said of traditional appliances. Therefore, try to leave a gap of a few centimeters between the cabinets of the headset and the body of the washing machine.
