The size of the washing machine depends on the type and class of device. In any case, manufacturers seek to adhere to the established standard sizes, so that it is easier for customers to calculate the place for the installation of household appliances.
Almost all washing machines designed for domestic use are manufactured with standard dimensions. Typical linear dimensions are important to know if repairs are in full swing, and filling with household appliances has not yet been thought out. In any case, you should decide on the type of washing machine: whether it will be a built-in appliance, a mini-class machine, or a machine with a vertical load.
Built-in appliances may have similar dimensions, but differs in the design of the front panel. It is important to consider that the car fits into the interior as harmoniously as possible.
Front loading machines
This is a standard class of washing units, the installation of which requires a niche 60 centimeters wide. All front-loading full-sized machines have a depth of 60 centimeters, which is why the machine does not always fit harmoniously into the kitchen: the facade may not be on par with the front panel of the washing machine. All standard devices have a body with a height of 85 centimeters.
For some washing machines, the exact overall width may be less than 3 to 10 millimeters.
Top-loading washing machines
For machines with a vertical load of linen, the height dimension is not standardized, but usually it is 85 centimeters, as with units with front-loading. In width they come in widths of 40 and 45 centimeters.
Some manufacturers may use intermediate values for the width of the case, for example - 42 centimeters, but indicate the maximum size for which the installation site is prepared.
The depth of these devices is standard: 60 centimeters.
Built-in appliances
The width of the built-in washing machines is the same as that of devices with front-loading laundry: from 59 to 60 centimeters. The maximum size in depth is 60 centimeters, the minimum is 33 centimeters.
If the dimensions of the washing machine do not allow to carry it through the doorway, you can remove the door of the loading hatch, which will reduce the depth by a few centimeters.
In principle, you can embed any machine, but only recessed ones are available with a special decorative door. In addition, for embedding from conventional machines, it is necessary to remove the cover to reduce the height of the unit, while built-in machines have a vertical dimension of 81.8 - 85 centimeters.
