To sharpen an ax with one bar, you need to put it on its side, press it to the surface with your hand and start sharpening with a coarse-grained tool. Then it is necessary to repeat sharpening on the other side of the ax, after which it is important to polish the edge of the blade with a finely abrasive bar, which will make the blade sharper and thinner. This type of sharpening is used only for carpentry axes - cleavers or tourist hatchets sharpen on an electric grinder. When sharpening on an electric sharpener, its stone must be moistened with water so that the metal does not heat up, and the blade does not blunt. For a carpentry ax, sharpening must be done at an angle of 35 degrees, and for chopping firewood - about 45.
