To try your hand at growing this exotic fruit, it is better to plant a seed in the ground. Moreover, for this, a bone made from mangoes bought at the market or in a supermarket is quite suitable. The main thing is to start planting immediately after the fruit has been eaten. Make sure that no fibers from the pulp remain on the bone or completely remove the outer shell by prying it with a sharp knife. This will help the seed to take root quickly, without overcoming the obstacle from the hard shell.

Treat the seed with a fungicide (if you did not remove the shell, this is not necessary), then put it in a pot with dense walls and a bottom, on which there should be several drainage holes. Take 2 parts of sheet and turf soil and 1 part of sand. The soil must be loose. Plant the seed in a horizontal position and sprinkle with earth. Or plant with the narrow end down so that ¼ of the seed remains outside. Whatever planting method you choose, after the stone is in the ground, do not forget to pour it with water at room temperature.

At the time of plant rooting and after, protect it from drafts, and also monitor the temperature regime. It should be stable and should be approximately + 22- + 24 degrees. After about 2-3 weeks, the first sprouts should appear. To stimulate further growth, the tree needs sun. If not, take care of artificial lighting.

The soil in the pot must be moistened, however, remember that the plant is very sensitive to excess moisture, so do not "fill" it. Use a watering can with small holes. From time to time spray the leaves from the spray gun, and also cut the shoots in places, forming a crown. Transplant mangoes into a larger pot every 2 years.

The plant needs to be fed with nitrogen-containing and organic fertilizers. You can use those that are suitable for citrus fruits. Mango should be fertilized quite often: about 1-2 times a month during the first year, then increase feeding in the spring-summer period (1-2 times in two weeks) and gradually decrease in autumn-winter (1 time per month).

You should not expect quick fruits from mangoes - with proper care, they can appear around the sixth year after planting and only six months after flowering. Until this pleasant moment, pests can appear on the plant. In order not to have to treat the tree for ticks or powdery mildew, be careful to maintain air humidity. Her level should adhere to 90%.
