Wire brands

Marking is applied directly to the product itself - the type of wire is usually indicated on the insulation. If any inscriptions are missing, it is recommended to contact the seller, who must provide the relevant certificates. For laying wiring in an apartment or a country house, 3-4 main types of wires are used.

The most common product is marked VVG. This is a wire that belongs to the category of power. The product is a single-core cable having a round or square cross section and placed in an insulating sheath made of PVC. Sometimes the letters NG are added to the marking of VVG; this means that the wire does not support combustion. A similar type of VVG is also recommended for use in rooms with a high level of humidity: pools, showers, bathrooms, saunas. It is worth noting that due to the single-core structure, such a wire has a relatively small volume and therefore fits well into the strobes. There is also a VVG option - a PUNP brand wire - also a good product, inferior to VVG only in terms of insulation quality.

In addition to the VVG brand, in private construction, repairs use wires such as NYM and PVA. The first variety resembles VVG; the difference is that such a wire has a stronger, double insulation and, accordingly, increased cost. The second variety - PVA, is a multicore product coated with an insulating sheath. The wire has good flexibility - however, experts recommend not using it for internal wiring. The best application for PVA is the connection of household appliances, the manufacture of extension cords, etc.
