In order for the carpet to please you longer, you need to take care of it, just like any other thing. But a carpet is a specific thing. And there are many subtleties in how to properly operate and clean it.

The new carpet does not need to be vacuumed or shaken - it will only lose its appearance. The first three months, the carpet is recommended to be cleaned with a soft brush.

Do not lay carpets on wet floors. And, of course, do not roll them into rolls - damage the finish. And so that the carpet does not curtain, change its position. Try not to put chiffoniers, chests of drawers and other "voluminous furniture" on the carpet. And do not bend the edges of the carpet if it does not fit somewhere. It is better to trim and correctly fix the edges.

To freshen the carpet, use a rag dipped in water with vinegar or pickled cabbage brine.

No need to knock a carpet by hanging it on a fence or throwing it over a clothesline. Use only very hard knockers to knock out the carpet.

To prevent the mat from slipping, you need to attach rubber pads to its inner surface. Well, or a radical way is to nail the carpet to the floor (though this advice is only relevant in the country house or in the barn …)
