If you became a happy owner of a thing from silk, do not forget - this is a very "capricious" fabric. It requires a special approach to everything in everything: in washing, in drying, in ironing. But wearing silk underwear or sleeping on silk sheets is a real pleasure.

Choose a suitable detergent. Stop at a special tool that says "for silk." Liquid preparations are preferable to powders, as it is more convenient to use them.

Wash laundry manually or on a typewriter. A washing machine can become your assistant in the care of silk linen only if it has a “delicate wash” program. The most optimal for this fabric is to wash silk manually. In any case, do not use water warmer than 30 degrees. During washing (even if there is a stain on the fabric), refrain from excessive mechanical stress. Do not rub the cloth intensively. Soaped - thoroughly rinsed. And so several times.

Squeeze the linen, but remember - silk here requires a special approach. Take a terry towel. Gently wrap the washed laundry in it and just wring it out slightly. All excess moisture is absorbed, and the tissue will not be damaged.

Hang the laundry, but it will be better if you spread it on a horizontal plane. In no case should you dry the silk in the drum of the washing machine! As well as hanging it in the sun, or worse - on the battery. There should not be any heating devices while drying this fabric.

After washing and drying, you need to iron the silk only from the wrong side, without spraying (otherwise there will be stains). Naturally, in a special mode for the fabric. If you are still afraid for a delicate fabric, you can iron through dry gauze.
Useful advice
To preserve color, you can rinse silk fabrics in water with a little vinegar (about 1-2 teaspoons per 10 liters of water). But the shine of the fabric can be enhanced by soaking the silk for a while in milk. Naturally, then it must be thoroughly rinsed. If you do not have a special product for this fabric, you can use baby soap or shampoo without color additives.
