A kimono differs from other clothes not only by its magnificent name, but also by its density of fabric, cut and other nuances. This is a comfortable training suit that absorbs moisture well. It is quite easy to wash. Most kimonos sold here have a standard Japanese cut.

The kimono consists of a jacket, belt and pants. The jacket is wraparound on the right side, the female version of the suit has ties at chest level, they are designed so as not to distract the attention of the surrounding men from the battle. The kimono designed for karate, thinner and lighter, has shortened sleeves. The fabric can be very different, the weight is expressed in ounces. The most durable models are made of heavier and denser material. But even the thinnest and lightest kimono is worn for at least two years, if it is well sewn.

For less wear, polyester is added to the costume fabric. Such a suit can even be washed in a basin. Draw warm water into the basin, pour a little washing powder, leave the kimono to soak for half an hour, then wash, rinse and hang to dry. The suit dries very quickly.

A kimono can be of almost any color, because in various martial arts schools the style and color of clothes means a level of skill. A suit of a certain color must be earned. Aikido kimono is white, so wash it separately from colored items.

Kimonos should be washed at least once a week, and sometimes twice. Dry it after each workout, as bacteria grow in the raw tissue, which subsequently irritates the skin. In addition, a suit that is not properly dried will have a terrible smell.

When washing a suit in a typewriter, set the mode to "cotton", pour no more than 200 grams of powder. Set the number of revolutions during washing and spinning. In this mode, the kimono will be washed for about an hour and a half. Do not leave the suit in the car after washing, as it will not only smell damp, but may rot. After that, smooth out large folds and wrinkles with your hands, hang on a clothesline to dry. Ironing a kimono is best when it is slightly wet.

Color kimono needs to be washed separately from the belt and only with a powder intended for washing colored fabrics, otherwise it will quickly lose the brightness of tones. In any case, the appearance should be neat, as it is very important in martial arts.
Useful advice
White kimono sometimes has to be bleached, which negatively affects the structure of the fabric, as a result of which it breaks. Use gentle bleaches.
