How to sterilize empty cans in the oven

First you need to make sure that the banks are free from defects and chips. If they have various cracks and other flaws, then such banks will not be suitable for sterilization and blanks for the winter.

The selected specimens are washed thoroughly with water and soda or laundry soap. Then the cans are placed in the oven. If they are dry, then they can be put upside down, and if raw, upside down to evaporate moisture. In this case, the oven should be a little warm.

Next, you need to gradually increase the temperature in the oven and bring it to 150 degrees. This is the maximum temperature at which cans need to be sterilized.

Liter cans at 150 degrees are sterilized in the oven for 10-12 minutes, two-liter - 15-17 minutes, three-liter - 23-25 ​​minutes. Banks with a volume of less than a liter should be sterilized in the oven for no more than 10 minutes at maximum temperature.

After that, they are carefully removed from it with the help of two towels or tacks. Cans are taken with both hands and put on a wooden stand. You can’t take them by the neck.

Separately, boil the lids for 10 minutes. After sterilization, only warm vegetables and fruits are placed in hot jars. Otherwise, it is necessary to cool them so that they do not burst.
