Instruction manual

1

Remove old covers from removable pillows. A new foam rubber can be glued to the sides of the pillows - thanks to this, their shape will be updated. Remove the patterns in order to sew new covers - the old upholstery is perfect for measurements on patterns. When making new covers, leave one side unstitched so that the product can easily be put on the pillow. You’ll get something like a pillowcase, for convenience, you can insert a zipper or sew buttons.

2

Disassemble the chair. Separate the back and side elements, remove the legs and armrests. Measure the details of the chair - this will be needed to complete the patterns. Making patterns for tightening the elements of the chair, all marks must be carried out without fail from the wrong side. For this, it is better to use ordinary chalk. It will not be visible from the outside, and if inaccuracy is made, it is easy to erase it.

3

Sew in accordance with the patterns of covers for all elements. Leave the allowances at about 1.5 cm. If the removable pillows still have an attractive appearance, you can change the upholstery only on the base of the chair. To do this, try to choose a fabric that is suitable in color and texture.

4

Glue the foam strips on the wooden armrests. To fix foam on pillows and on wooden armrests, use special furniture glue. It is better to take a composition characterized by good wear resistance, you can use the glue "Moment". Cover the foam with a cloth that needs to be fixed with a furniture stapler. You can not even remove the upholstery from the seats if the fabric itself has faded, but is well preserved. Lock the new upholstery over it with a stapler.

5

If chips appeared on the wooden armrests of the chair that spoil the entire appearance of the chair, they can be covered with a foam lined fabric. The chair will take on a new, rounded shape. With good preservation, the armrests can be treated - sanded, coated with stain or varnish. Beautiful wooden elements will give the chair an elegant, unique appearance. Parts that are not hidden under the upholstery, such as legs, must be treated with sandpaper and then varnished.

note

Use foam rubber with different thicknesses when working. Dense foam rubber is suitable for pillows, thin for armrests. Try to choose the material for the new upholstery so that it is not only beautiful, but also practical.
