To paint a washing machine, decide how this household appliance should look after painting it, and purchase one or more spray cans of paint. Clean the surface of your washing machine from accumulated dust, dirt, carefully remove grease, especially if the machine has been standing in the kitchen for a long time. If rust appears on the surface of your washing machine, remove the old paintwork. Thoroughly clean the surface from the front and sides with a spray can that contains a paint remover.

When the paint on the surface of the washing machine "swells", remove its remains with a metal spatula, and if in some places the old paintwork seems to have stuck tightly, once again treat such places with a spray can. When removing old paint, you can use a brush for metal, but you can use it only to clean the metal surface, where the paint has already been removed with paint. If parts of the old paintwork remain in some areas, it will be impossible to evenly paint the surface of the washing machine.

Thoroughly wash the cleaned surface of the washing machine and let it dry so that the moisture evaporates completely. Degrease the surface with an ordinary solvent, and then apply a primer to the entire surface of the washing machine, distributing it as evenly as possible, so that the paint used in the future is as light as possible smoothly. Apply the soil in as thin layers as possible in several layers, giving each layer time to dry out quite well, otherwise the soil will later become distorted, and the new paint will “swell”. If you are going to paint the surface of the washing machine in light shades, use white or light gray primer, since it will be difficult to block the dark primer with paint.

Already apply new paint to the primer by spraying it from an aerosol can, paint will be applied in one or two layers, you will understand yourself when the first layer is dry. If you want to paint the washing machine under the "sea wave" or apply another pattern to its surface, prepare stencils cut out of cardboard before painting. Carefully place them on the surface of the washing machine, securing them with tape, and then apply the drawing, using cans of colored paint in turn. But in places where multi-colored elements of the drawing meet each other, very carefully apply paint and do not remove the stencil until it dries completely.
