Often you lose the opportunity to take a shower because a blockage has occurred in the bathroom. There are several simple ways to urgently, without waiting for the plumber, fix the problem.

Try a simple home experiment first. To do this, pour soda (4 tablespoons) into the drain hole and pour vinegar (2 tablespoons). In order for the reaction to go better, it is necessary to exclude the penetration of air into the drain, closing it with a rag or other improvised methods. The process should take about an hour, and then thoroughly rinse the drain with water. You can see how well it will merge into the sewer and see if the method helped.

The second good way is a plunger. It is better to choose not the cheapest model. Check that the workmanship is flexible, but not flimsy, otherwise the device will quickly deteriorate. The nozzle closes the drain opening and begins to make lowering and raising movements. From the very first attempt you will hear how clusters move in the pipes. To check the results, drain the water, it must penetrate the pipes unhindered.

If plunger and soda did not help, use a plumbing cord. This is a steel fixture with a small ram at one end. To use this device, you need to disassemble the pipe. Perhaps your pipe in the bathroom has a round hole closed by a lid, then just unscrew it and access to the sewer system will appear. If there is no such cap, you will have to remove part of the pipe. This is not so difficult, given that most structures under the bathroom are plastic, and are connected by a simple hermetic docking. Unscrewing part of the pipe, you will see the blockage itself. It may turn out that it was not the bathroom drain that was to blame, but the kitchen sink, but in the common pipe, debris and waste entered the outlet to the bathroom and shower. In the resulting gap lay the elastic part of the plumbing cord. Perhaps you can eliminate the blockage even without it, removing dirt with your hands (do not forget to put on gloves and put a basin under the drain).
