Silver items and jewelry become darker over time due to oxidation of the metal. In order for silver to always please the eye, periodic cleaning is necessary. For this, not only a tool from a jewelry store is suitable, but also familiar homemade compositions.
Ammonia
With this tool, you can easily clean silver jewelry or cutlery. This option is the most affordable of all possible. Products are placed in containers filled with alcohol. After about twenty minutes, you need to get the silver, rinse thoroughly and put to dry. Thus, it is possible not only to clean silver, but also simply prevent the darkening of the metal by performing this procedure in order to prevent.
Paste
If the oxidation on the metal is strong enough, then before the process with ammonia, you should clean the product with a simple toothbrush with paste. If there are precious stones on the product, it is better not to use this method.
Powder (Tooth)
Silver is placed in a container with warm water and the tooth powder is poured. It is best to clean the metal with suede or wool, after which the product must be washed and dried.
Soda
For 500 grams of water, a tablespoon of baking soda is dissolved, after which the mixture is heated on a stove. As soon as the mixture boils in it, you need to place a small piece of foil and put silver. The process should last no more than fifteen minutes.
Salt
Metal can be cleaned with simple edible salt. For 200 grams of water, a little salt is diluted (teaspoon). The solution must be well mixed, after which place the silver there and leave the products in it for at least five hours. If the jewelry is very oxidized, it should be boiled in this solution for about ten minutes (if there are stones in the product, this should not be done).
Vinegar
Pretty simple way. You need the usual nine percent vinegar, which you need to warm up a bit and put jewelry in it for about ten minutes, then rinse thoroughly and dry, then polish with suede.
