If you have a money tree (fat tree) at home, then sooner or later you will come across the fact that the plant has become crowded in the pot and it needs a more spacious container. In order to properly transplant a fat woman, and not harm the plant, you need to know a few simple rules.

If you decide to transplant a fat girl, then choose a wide and low pot for the plant. The fact is that the root system of the money tree is superficial, so a pot of this shape will be most comfortable for the plant. The diameter of the pot should be approximately equal to the diameter of the crown of the crassula. If you select a pot that is too wide, the plant will grow slowly.

An adult plant is usually transplanted once or twice a year. Before starting the transplant, prepare the soil for a new plant. You can take a universal ready-made mixture and add sand to it in a ratio of 1: 4. You can also purchase soil for succulents in a specialized store.

Prepare drainage for the plant. To do this, pour medium-sized expanded clay on the bottom of the pot with a layer of at least 2-3 cm. Expanded clay will prevent root decay, as it absorbs excess moisture perfectly when watering.

In the process of transplanting, do not remove the soil from the roots of the plant. With the old soil in the pot, the plant quickly adapts to new conditions. You can transplant a fat woman directly with a lump of earth, adding a universal substrate or special soil for indoor plants to a new pot.

Use caution when transplanting a money tree. The leaves of this plant are very fragile, despite the apparent thickness and strength, so try not to damage the delicate plant.

After you transplant the money tree, put the pot with the plant in a shaded place and try to avoid excessive watering for the first time. Watering a fat woman should only be done when the topsoil is dry, but you need to spray the flower with water from the spray gun regularly. So the plant will get used to new conditions much faster.

Once a month, feed the transplanted plant with mineral fertilizers. It’s best to choose fertilizers that are specifically designed for succulents.

Spring is considered the best time for transplanting a fat woman, however you can transplant the plant at other times of the year, just make sure that the transplanted money tree is in favorable conditions for it. In the summer, put a pot with a plant at partial shade, and in winter, avoid the proximity of a fat girl to heating appliances.
