The attic, equipped as a study, billiard room or gym can be organized under a gable or sloping roof with a slope of rafters of 45-60 degrees. But this additional area will have to be properly insulated and sheathed. Having repair skills, attic finishing can be done in a few days.
Attic arrangement
The interior decoration of the attic includes:
- ceiling decoration;
- wall decoration;
- arrangement of the entrance;
- room interior;
- organization of lighting.
The ceiling can be finished with clapboard or plywood. You can also mount a light ceiling, mounted directly to the crossbars.
For wall sheathing, the same lining or hardboard is used. On the racks of the attic, crossbars from the beam are installed, and then sheathing material is attached to them. When cladding walls and ceilings, fiberboard can be used. As a rule, the electrical wiring is hidden under the plates in special grooves.
But before starting work, insulation must be done, otherwise large heat losses cannot be avoided. Mineral wool and fiberboard are suitable as insulation. Before and after the insulation, waterproofing layers are installed.
The decoration itself is carried out using lining, blockhouse, drywall. Since the attic is considered a room with a lightweight wall structure, the interior finish is carried out with waterproof, lightweight materials.
The entrance to the room can be closed with an ordinary tulle curtain or sliding curtains.
Cladding the attic
Installation of lining does not require special skills. The lining sheets are cut to the desired height and are mounted on a wooden base with nails. The lining should be treated with varnish and an antibacterial agent.
The basis for the floor of the room is the flooring from the boards. Softwood boards have high strength and durability. It is important that the floor material is dry.
