In order for the purchased glasses to serve for a long time and allow you to fully enjoy the taste of wine or champagne, you must properly care for them. Only careful maintenance of the glasses can guarantee the preservation of shine, transparency and the absence of any smell that can significantly distort the taste and aroma of wine.

  • - Dishwasher;

  • - warm water;

  • - mustard, vinegar;

  • - a towel.

Instruction manual

1

If you have a dishwasher, you can wash the glasses in it, but at the same time program it for a short program and select the low temperature wash mode. In no case do not leave the glasses in the car for a long time, since increased humidity can permanently ruin the glass, the glasses left at night will be covered with a bluish cloudy film, which will be impossible to get rid of.

2

Any glasses, especially those made of crystal and with a gold dusting, are best washed by hand using warm water (hot water can destroy glass). Try not to use detergents, as they leave a thin chemical film on the surface, interfering with the aroma and taste of the wine. Use a special soft brush, and do not wash other dishes with it, otherwise it will absorb foreign odors and “share” them with the glasses.

3

Rinse the glasses under a generous stream of warm water. You can add some vinegar or lemon juice to the water to give the glass a shine. The old-fashioned way to make glasses shiny and effective: add a little mustard to the water or grease the surface with mustard powder, then rinse in warm or cold water with vinegar.

4

Dry the glasses upside down on a clean towel.

5

After drying, steam the glasses to make them more shiny and “play” in the sun or in electric light. To do this, simply hold them over the spout of the kettle or over the pan.

6

Wipe the surface of the glasses with a dry towel. It is best to use microfiber cloths or an erased linen cloth (it should be washed in powder without strong perfumes and without air conditioning). Do not use a towel for glasses for other dishes, otherwise the glasses instead of the smell of "cleanliness" are saturated with the smell of a "dirty rag". First, wipe the stand of the glass by lowering it “upside down”, then turn it over and, holding the bottom of the bowl, wipe the walls. In this case, do not twist the stand and the glass, otherwise it could be damaged.
