Instruction manual

1

Before cutting fish, chopping garlic or onions, moisten a cutting board with 9% vinegar or wipe with a slice of lemon.

2

If your cutting board is saturated with the smell of fish, sprinkle it with vinegar, diluted with water in a ratio of 1: 1, or lemon juice.

3

The smell of sauerkraut, garlic or fish can be removed by washing the cutting board with hot salt water (4 tablespoons of salt per liter of water) or warm water with vinegar diluted in it (2 tablespoons of vinegar in 2 liters of water).

4

If the unpleasant smell of raw meat comes from the cutting board, soak it for half an hour in hot water with chopped charcoal (100 grams per liter). Instead of coal, you can use a pinch of ground coffee. Then thoroughly rinse the board under running water with the addition of liquid, flavored dishwashing detergents.

5

If your cutting board is made of food-grade plastic, then to get rid of the unpleasant odor, wash its surface with water and baking soda or wipe it with a cloth dampened with vinegar and rinse.

6

To get rid of the smell of mold coming from a wooden cutting board, intensively wipe it with coffee grounds and leave for a few minutes. Then wash the kitchen tool well under hot running water.

7

Wipe the board with dry mustard powder or sleeping tea to get rid of the smell of herring. It also neutralizes a similar “flavor” of fresh milk. Just wipe the cutting board with a sponge dipped in cold milk.

8

When choosing a cutting board, consider the fact that glass and plastic boards are less likely to absorb various odors than wooden ones. It is also worth taking into account that boards with a corrugated surface are more difficult to wash, and accordingly there will be more problems with smells.

9

Use at least three to four boards for different groups of products and immediately after cooking thoroughly wash them in hot water with the addition of special dishwashing detergents. The likelihood of persistent odors with such care for this kitchen tool will be minimal.
