Almost no capital construction is complete without the use of concrete mortar. It can be a foundation or screed. In any case, it is important to know how to prepare concrete and what is needed for this, because there are a number of nuances that significantly affect the quality of the result.
A few words about what concrete is. Composition
Concrete in its consistency and composition may differ depending on the objectives. The simplest, the so-called skinny concrete, is prepared using only three components: coarse river sand, Portland cement and water. Such concrete is suitable for forming a thin layer of screed or reinforcing already erected structures, fixing small parts. More durable concrete is obtained by adding large fractions: gravel, crushed stone, chipped stone. In no case should river or sea pebbles be used; as a result, a layer of a solution with a much lower strength will be obtained.
The prepared concrete solution must have sufficient fluidity to flow in the prepared form or formwork. The amount of cement mortar should be such that it fills the entire space between the rubble or gravel filling it and so that the concrete does not protrude from above.
