Cherry plum is a thermophilic and photophilous plant, the fruits of which never ripen at the same time. It is incredibly productive: a planted tree is able to please the owner two years after planting; frost-resistant and not whimsical to the soil.

Lasting beauty

This stone fruit plant has a fairly short dormant period and, unlike other fruit trees, begins to bloom extremely early, without fear of severe spring frosts. This indicator is called the "high arousal" of asleep kidneys. This process occurs immediately after the almond blossoms, simultaneously with peaches and apricots, usually at the beginning of April.

Cherry plum flowers are incredibly resistant to low temperatures and can tolerate drops of up to 3-8 degrees Celsius. Such "especially resistant" varieties belong to the category, for example, "Scythian Gold". The ovaries tolerate such conditions much worse than flowers and freeze already at minus 2, however, a frozen tree can recover incredibly quickly and give a good harvest next year.

Cherry plum is a favorite of bees and a wonderful honey plant, able to maintain the viability of its pollen from 30 to 80 days. Cherry plum flowers are incredibly fragrant and rich in nectar. Shrub blooms, as a rule, with single flowers, however, there are exceptions when two low-flowered umbrellas appear from the bud at once. Buds with very delicate shades, as a rule, appear before the leaves, although there are cases when blooming occurs simultaneously with wide foliage, which has an oval shape. The buds are capable of laying both on branches and on shoots.
