On water pipelines with hot water and metal-plastic ones, including faucet-boxes at the inset into the main highway, they often “boil”, that is, they become clogged with lime deposits. As a result, the water pressure decreases, and the tap cannot be turned. There is an easy way to bring a boiled tap back to life.
If the crane can make at least a minimal attempt to move, it can be temporarily resuscitated. In any case, in the near future it is necessary to purchase a new crane box and call a locksmith.
However, for one to two weeks you can make the crane work. To do this, prepare a small hammer and open hot water in the bathroom or kitchen.
Tapping and turning the valve
The whole operation consists in lightly tapping the axle box body and turning the valve valve in different directions.
As a result of these actions, part of the scale will break off (the scale in structure resembles an egg shell, respectively, this is a rather fragile material) and turning the valve will gain momentum.
Water must be opened to remove the breakaway scale and at the same time control the quality of the pressure.
It has been experimentally established that the completely “dead” crane axle begins to show signs of life for minutes after 15 light taps. It is necessary to tap from different sides of the body in order to cause multidirectional vibrations which destroy the scale.
