Timely defrosting of the refrigerator is a prerequisite for its proper operation. However, this procedure takes a lot of time, and the housewives deliberately take their time. Such a delay can disrupt the operation of the device and subsequently lead to its breakdown. There are ways to quickly and safely defrost a refrigerator.

Before defrosting a refrigerator, you must completely free it from food. It is permissible to leave vegetables, fruits and canned goods in factory packaging temporarily in the kitchen. Clean dairy and meat products in a cool place. As an improvised glacier, you can use large pieces of frozen meat. Wrap them in several layers of polyethylene and lay with perishable foods. So you provide a low storage temperature to your stocks.

When you have freed the refrigerator, unplug it. Open the doors of the refrigerator and freezer so that warm air enters the appliance. Place melt water containers on the lower shelves of both compartments. On the floor in front of the refrigerator, it is better to put a cloth that absorbs moisture generated during defrosting.

Full defrosting of the refrigerator takes an average of 5-6 hours. In order to significantly speed up this process, fill a few cups with warm water and refrigerate them. Water should not be too hot, as high temperatures can easily damage the appliance.

You can quickly remove the ice crust from the side walls of the refrigerator using a warm water heater. Carefully lean it against the ice growths, wait for them to thaw and remove the loose pieces of ice. Using warm water will significantly speed up the defrosting process, and the refrigerator will be ready for use after 2 hours.

It will take even less time to defrost if you use a regular hair dryer or fan. Direct a stream of warm air on the ice crust and warm it until it is behind the walls of the appliance. Remove pieces of ice and excess moisture with a rag.

After defrosting the refrigerator, thoroughly wipe both chambers with warm water. Clean heavy dirt with baking soda or salt; these substances are also good disinfectants. Then wipe the walls of the appliance dry. Replace the products and plug in the refrigerator.

To prevent damage, it is not recommended to defrost the refrigerator in a quick way too often. If time permits, it is better to let it unfreeze naturally.
