Industrial dust enters the human body through the respiratory tract and causes irreparable harm to health. Concrete dust also harms equipment and machinery. But to combat dust generation there are effective and inexpensive means.

Today, in some places you can still see the finished concrete floor without a protective coating. Most often these are small production workshops of an old construction, private garages, warehouses. Finished concrete floor can be used in those rooms where there are no high requirements for its wear resistance. The cost of organizing such a floor is negligible, but it has a huge drawback, due to which many organizations refuse to finish the floor. And the reason is dust formation.

What is dust formation and how to deal with it

All concrete surfaces are subject to dusting to one degree or another, but floors made of low-quality concrete or with a violation of screed technology give dusting literally from the first months of operation.

Dust from a concrete surface has nothing to do with household dust. It consists of molecules of a binding substance and is extremely dangerous both for the human body and for equipment and details of mechanisms.

To combat dust formation, there is only one method - dust removal.

Types of dust removal

Finished concrete floor can be periodically removed from the dust during operation, which, of course, is unprofitable. It is more logical to take drastic measures and eliminate the problem once and for all. Dust removal refers to a series of measures to restore and treat a problem concrete surface.

Such treatment will not only permanently stop the formation of industrial dust, but also give the surface additional qualities - moisture and wear resistance, the ability to withstand chemical and mechanical influences.

To process the old surface, it is necessary to carry out a cycle of work to eliminate defects, sometimes it is easier and cheaper to completely dismantle the old screed.

The best option would be to take preventive measures and combine the installation of a concrete floor with measures to prevent dust formation.
