With the advent of automatic washing machines, the life of housewives has become much simpler. However, not a single household appliance is insured against breakdowns, and a malfunction of the washing machine usually entails costly repairs. For example, if a machine stops draining water, many immediately call a master, not realizing that some malfunctions can be eliminated on their own.

Possible reasons for the machine not draining water

Problems with draining water can be different:

- drainage of water occurs very slowly, after which it stops completely;

- the operation of the machine stops at the stage of discharge;

- problems with the drain do not occur with every wash;

- after emptying the tank, the spin mode is blocked;

- malfunctions occur only when rinsing the laundry.

Very often, problems with the drain appear due to clogging in the pipes or some part of the system. Here are the most likely places due to clogging which failures occur:

- a pipe between the pump and the tank of the machine;

- pump filter;

- drain hose;

- sewer pipe / siphon;

- impeller (failure occurs due to a stuck object).

Also, the machine may stop draining due to a pump breakdown.

How to find the cause of the malfunction

Before starting troubleshooting, disconnect the machine from the power supply, otherwise you may get an electric shock. Begin inspection by checking the drain hose. Perhaps the cause of the malfunction is because the hose is bent or clogged.

If everything is okay with the hose, proceed with checking the sewer pipes and siphon. If the siphon or pipes are clogged, the machine does not drain and buzzes. If during an external inspection you could not find the cause of the malfunction, then check the filter located on the front panel at the bottom. Before proceeding with the inspection of the filter, be sure to substitute a container to drain the water, otherwise a large puddle will form on the floor. If clogging is detected, clean the filter and reinstall it.

Sometimes it happens that during the washing the machine works properly, but when rinsing, the water drain stops. Before calling the wizard, make sure that the “Stop the machine with water” program is not installed on the unit. To exclude this possibility, carefully study the appropriate section in the instructions for the household appliance.
